Business Opportunity Summary:
A leading high-end supermarket chain is looking for British food and drink products from brand owners.
Established in 2004, this supermarket brand is the retail arm of a big State Owned Enterprise (SOE), which specialises in manufacturing, distribution and trading of food products. The boutique supermarket targets at middle-to-high end customers and sells mostly imported products. Currently it cooperates with over 100 well-known brands from more than 20 countries and regions, with imports making up over 85% of goods sold. It has more than 40 stores across China, mainly located in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
It is seeking collaboration with well-known UK food brands which have not yet entered the China market. Its particular interests lie in new products with special features such as nutritious products.
