China Outbound Conference, Shen Zhen, China, 28th-30th Nov, 2017

Registration is closed for this event
The annual CBBC China outbound Conference has been successfully run for four years. It has become a flahship event in Chinese UK investment community. Last year’s conference in Shanghai attracted over 450 delegates, of which around 200 Chinese investors were from state owned enterprise and listed companies. Nearly 100 projects were promoted at the conference with one to one match-makings arranged.

According to the statistics of China’s Ministry of Commerce, the overseas direct investment reached 170.1 billion USD in 2016, up 44% from the previous year. The ODI from China is expected to slow down in 2017 due to tight regulation in China and other countries. However, the trend of Chinese companies investing overseas will continue. As Chinese companies become more cautious and experience, the quality and sustainability of Chinese ODI will improve.

The Brexit brought uncertainty to the UK market, but the low value of British Pound after the Brexit attracted many Chinese investors. A report by China Daily shows manufacturing, technology, media, telecommunications, leisure, retail, financial services and property are the top sectors that attracted Chinese investment.

The UK remains a top destination for Chinese investors. With its vibrant and epen economy, world class research and innovation capability and high complementarity with Chinese industries, the UK is an ideal partner for Chinese companies. British companies are also well positioned to work with Chinese counterparts in developing third markets.

This year, the conference will move to Shenzhen, home to many global private companies. With over 400 listed companies, Shenzhen has one of the most vibrant economies in China. Delegates will have opportunities to learn about the latest investment policy, new trends in key industries, and classic case studies of investing in the UK.

Different from last year, we will arrange project pitches and one to one meetings between project owners and financial and professional services companies and investors in the morning of the second day. Delegates will also have opportunities to visit some of the well-known companies in Shenzhen.
