Chinese policy continues to look to the consumer to drive its economic growth, and there continues to be an interest in and demand for foreign brands. In an increasingly crowded market however, it is important to be aware of what that consumer wants.  Women continue to drive the e-commerce boom, representing 60% of people who spend over 10,000 RMB online annually. But what do they want to buy, how do they want to buy it, and how do you target them? Much of the strong e-commerce growth is driven by tech adoption and use of social media - especially all important 'Key Opinion Leaders' (KOLs) - in the West known as 'influencers'.

Join CBBC and The Chinese Weekly on 12th December for this fascinating look at women's lifestyle and fashion trends as we go into 2018. Hear from Chinese KOL Yvonna Xu about her views on emerging female lifestyle and fashion trends, and her experience of producing  content that keeps Chinese consumers engaged. Then hear from experts from The Chinese Weekly, representing Weibo, who can shine a light on how to do Weibo targeted marketing on a budget.

  • Jack Porteous, CBBC – Introduction and welcome
  • Yvonna Xu – Women’s fashion and lifestyle trends: A KOL’s view
  • Suran Ding & Emma Li – Weibo as a marketing tool
