Organized by The Scotch Whisky Association, Barley Magazine and China-Britain Business Council.

The awareness and demand for Scotch whisky in China has never been higher. This has led to a plethora of opportunities for Scotch producers and bottlers, as well as some challenges. In the past 5 years it has also driven the emergence of whisky distilleries being built in China itself, to meet increasing demand. This event is designed to serve as a stock-take of the many issues and opportunities in this area, through a series of mini-panels and conversations with companies and individuals that have been nurturing partnerships in China in recent year.

Topics will include:

  1. How to protect your Scotch Whisky brand in China (Legal/IP concerns)
  2. How to export your whisky to China (exporting & Marketing)
  3. The Chinese whisky market (& Chinese whisky brands)

Speakers include:

Iain Weir (Ian Macleod)

Paul Skipworth (Eden Mill St Andrews/SMWS)

Sarah Talland (Potter Clarkson)

Lindesay Low (SWA)
Tom Pattinson (Barley)

James Brodie (CBBC)
