Background:
Pidu District leverages on "Venture Tianfu" action plan since 2015 to respond to the central Government’s call, which was a keystone to promote "mass innovation and entrepreneurship”. The innovation and entrepreneurship space has been named Jingrong Town, of which the characters refer to essence and purity, and Chengdu, which both symbolise grass root entrepreneurship, assembly of those with common interests, and the creation of an innovation and entrepreneurship cluster. This event will bring you with more information about Jingrong Town; its incubation and acceleration programs; as well as the policies and incentive packages set out by the government to facilitate the UK and China tech collaboration and foster cross border investment between the UK and China. As Pixian’s overseas strategic partner, BBD UK will help Pixian to establish its overseas talent station and office in the UK and facilitate cross boarder cooperation. With BBD UK’s assistance, Pixian and Zhejiang University Academy of Internet Finance has already signed MoU for strategic cooperation in Zhejiang University-Imperial College London Joint Lab for Applied Data Science.

- “TusStar - Makers Park” – China’s first garden-style international incubator;
- “Venture Tianfu - Pidu District Action Plan Preferential Policies” with specific allocated government fund. So far, claimed awards and funds for project initiation, operation financing, talent recruitment and other items has amounted to RMB 86 million (nearly £10m);
- 4 investment funds established by the government totaling RMB 2.3 billion (£262m), 22 venture capital investment funds;
- 38 new incubators, 1,289 innovation projects, 32 service agencies and 19 private investment institutes leading to venture capital investment totaling RMB 110 million (£12.5m) for 13 enterprises.
