Cheryl Freeman, Quality Improvement Advisor

Cheryl holds a BA Hons Degree in Early Childhood Studies and has previous experience in Forest School education in Denmark.

She once worked for the Civil Service and the Qualification and Curriculum Authority, where she worked on the EYFS and Key Stage 1 team developing policy for Assessment within the Early Years Foundation Stage. Cheryl then moved over to Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) where she continued her work with Assessment in the EYFS and KS1.

Whilst at Ofqual Cheryl completed a Master degree in Early Childhood and Education with a focus on the developing professionalisation of the Early Years sector staff. Cheryl then returned to working more hands on with young children so went back to Coventry where she managed a nursery before then joining Banana Moon as a Quality Improvement Adviser in August 2015. Cheryl particular enjoyed working with the 0-2 years age group and has a keen interest in Observation, Planning and Assessment. Cheryl advocates that all children learn through play and children should be providing with lots of open ended opportunities to explore and bring out their natural curiosity.
