At the start of the new Chinese year of the Dragon CBBC is pleased to host a visit by China’s premier retailer Matro and offer the opportunity for CBBC members to meet with the business development team 1-2-1.

Matro Group:

With over 30 years of history operating luxury department stores, 20 plus years history of distributing international brands in the Chinese market, Matro retail group, owned by parent company Suzhou Function Group, is one of the biggest private business groups in the city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province in China.

Like Selfridges and John Lewis in the UK, Matro plays a very influential role in the Chinese retail rector. It operates 2 large high-end luxury stores in Suzhou, one of the wealthiest cities in China. The department stores have brought together luxury brands such as HERMES, LOUIS-VUITTON, GUCCI, CARTIER, BVLGARI, TIFFANY&CO., PRADA, CELINE, BURBERRY, FERRAGAMO, ROLEX, JAEGER-LECOULTRE and IWC, and prestige cosmetic brands such as CHANEL, DIOR, ESTEE-LAUDER, LANCOME, LA MER and LA PRAIRIE, as well as thousands of famous Chinese and foreign fashionable brands for over thirty years.

Matro’s grand project “Boundless Matro", is a cross boarder online and offline business platform, introducing premium consumer products and international brands from all over the world. It is housed in a 38,000 square metre large Cultural and Creative village, in Suzhou's city centre, next to the world’s heritage site Zhuo Zheng Garden and Suzhou Museum.

Boundless Matro is a creative cultural hub introducing international lifestyle brands through multi-countries’ pavilions, including Japan, Australia, North America, France, Italy, British and Ireland. Surrounded by high-end restaurants, hotels, and a range of cultural activities and entertainment in the village, customers experience authentic international culture and lifestyle in the heart of Suzhou.

British brands will be presented and sold through a British Island and Pavilion. At the same time, customers will also be able to experience all those online, through Matro’s  e-commerce VR platform.
